SEATTLE, Wash. - April 11, 2023 -Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have signed center Logan Morrison to a three-year, entry-level contract ($950,000 AAV).

Morrison split the 2022-23 season between the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), serving as Hamilton's captain before being acquired by Ottawa in a midseason trade. He totaled 94 points (40 goals, 54 assists) in 56 regular-season games in all, setting career highs in goals, power-play goals (nine, tied), shorthanded goals (one) and game-winning goals (four, tied). Morrison's 94 points were good for seventh in the OHL and led all Ottawa skaters, and it marked the second-consecutive year that he recorded at least 90 points in a season. Since being acquired by Ottawa, Morrison averaged 1.77 points per game, and he averaged 1.68 points per game across the 2022-23 season, which was tied for the third-best mark in the OHL. Morrison was named Ottawa's best forward at the conclusion of the regular season and is his team's nominee for the Red Tilson Trophy as the OHL's Most Outstanding Player during the 2022-23 regular season. Morrison has added 10 points (seven goals, three assists) in five playoff games, which is good for second on Ottawa's roster. To date, Morrison's seven playoff goals are tied for the most in the OHL.
The six-foot, 180-pound center has totaled 273 points (111 goals, 162 assists) in 222 regular-season OHL games with the Hamilton Bulldogs and Ottawa 67's. He set an OHL career high with 100 points (34 goals, 66 assists) in 2021-22, becoming just the second player in Hamilton franchise history to record 100 points in a season. His 100 points were good for sixth in the OHL and his 66 assists ranked fifth.
A noted playoff performer, Morrison has recorded at least a point in every OHL playoff game he has played through the course of his career, totaling 50 points (24 goals, 26 points) in 28 postseason games. The 2021-22 season saw Morrison win an OHL championship with the Hamilton Bulldogs after leading the OHL in playoff goals (17) and ranking second in points with 39, which set a Hamilton franchise record for playoff points in a single season. His offensive efforts won him the Wayne Gretzky 99 Award as the OHL Playoffs Most Valuable Player, and he went on the be named the Most Sportsmanlike Player in the Canadian Hockey League's Memorial Cup tournament.
Morrison is a native of Guelph, Ontario and was selected by Hamilton with the 18th-overall pick of the 2018 Ontario Hockey League Draft. He will remain with the Ottawa 67s through the course of their playoff run. They are set to take on the Peterborough Petes in Game 1 of the second round on Friday, April 14.
