Andrew Allen

During a season-end press conference, Kraken general manager Ron Francis announced he "made the decision [Tuesday] not to renew the contract of Andrew Allen, our goalie coach."
"Basically, with how the season had gone," Francis said when asked about reasons for not extending Allen's contract. "We [the team's goaltending performance] struggled early and we couldn't get out of it. We figured to look in a different direction for next season."

Francis said the organization will be searching actively for a new goaltender coach and mentor.
"It's a unique position," said Francis, "dealing with the mental aspect, confidence, getting guys to feel good. Other parts of it include picking up the little things the goaltenders are doing or not doing that could be affecting his overall play and positioning.
"There's a lot of things that go into it. Knowing when to push them, when to looking for rest for them. It's a challenge to find someone who makes things go smoothly for your goaltenders. It's such a challenging position."
"Andrew was a great part of the staff as who he is as a person and his work ethic," said Seattle head coach Dave Hakstol, who joined Francis at a joint end-of-year press conference.
