SEATTLE, Wash. - April 27, 2023 -Today, the Seattle Kraken (@SeattleKraken) announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Jagger Firkus on a two-way, three-year contract ($950,000 AAV). Firkus is expected to report to Seattle's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Coachella Valley Firebirds, who are currently leading their Pacific Division Semifinals playoff series 1-0 against the Colorado Eagles.

"Jagger is coming off of a very productive season and we're excited for him to join the Kraken organization," said Seattle Kraken General Manager Ron Francis. "He was one of the WHL's top goal scorers last season and we look forward to his continued development."
Firkus, 18, recorded 88 points (40 goals, 44 assists) and 11 game-winning goals in 66 games with the Moose Jaw Warriors of the Western Hockey League (WHL) during the 2022-23 regular season. He led his team in goals (tied), points, game-winning goals, shots on goal (245) and ranked second in power-play goals (11). His 40 goals ranked tied for eighth in the league. Firkus finished his 2023 WHL playoff run tied for the league lead in both points (21) and goals (10), and added two game-winning goals in 10 games as Moose Jaw reached the second round.
The five-foot-ten, 154-pound forward has posted 184 points (83 goals, 101 assists) and 18 game-winning goals in 167 career WHL games, all with Moose Jaw. He led the Warriors in goals (36) and points (80) in 2021-22 and earned WHL East Second Team All-Star honors. In 20 WHL playoff games, Firkus has registered 16 goals and 17 assists.
A native of Irma, AB, Firkus was selected by Seattle in the second round (35th overall) of the 2022 NHL Draft.
