A look at the game “by the numbers.”

  • On the game as a whole, in 5-on-5 play, the Kraken generated 43.8-percent of all shot volume but 57-percent of all shot quality. In regulation, the first period was the team’s strongest in each metric.
  • In overtime, Seattle fired ten shot attempts to Vegas’ three resulting in 83.3-percent of all shot quality coming from Kraken sticks.
  • Vegas’ potent top line of Ivan Barbashev, Jack Eichel and Mitch Marner was kept quiet in 5-on-5 play. The three were minus-3 in shot attempts and created just 24-percent of all shot quality in 6:24 together. That’s primarily a credit to the Chandler Stephenson line (which included Ryan Winterton and ultimately Jaden Schwartz) and the Adam Larsson-Vince Dunn pair which saw the most time against that Golden Knights trio.
  • At even strength, both teams generated eight high danger scoring chances.
  • Seattle created three scoring chances off turnovers while allowing just one against.
  • Captain Jordan Eberle led his team in individual shot quality and shots from the slot. His center, Matty Beniers was a close second in both categories and had the most scoring chances off the cycle (3).
  • The top skaters in the game according to Game Score (per hockeystatcards.com) were Vince Dunn, Matty Beniers, and Joey Daccord.
  • With the overtime winner, Jared McCann scored the 400th point of his NHL career.
  • For the first time in franchise history, the Kraken won the first two games of the season.
  • Joey Daccord earned his second straight quality start and netted his 50th NHL win as a member of the Seattle Kraken.
