5️⃣ Things To Know For Tonight's Game

  1. With Thursday's 6-5 overtime victory over Ottawa in the bank, the Kings continue on their seven-game homestand this evening, as they host the Buffalo Sabres in their first matinee contest of the season.
  2. Forward Quinton Byfield scored the overtime game-winning goal last time out, as a part of his second multi-point game of the 2026-27 season. Byfield's overtime goal was the seventh of his NHL career, second on the Kings behind Adrian Kempe since Byfield entered the league. Since the start of the 2024-25 season, no player in the NHL has more overtime goals than Byfield.
  3. Defenseman Drew Doughty led the Kings offensively last time out with three points (0-3-3) in the win over Ottawa. Doughty has now collected three points in back-to-back games, with Thursday's effort the 18th time in his NHL career he's collected at least three points. Per NHL PR, Doughty is the second-oldest defenseman in NHL history to post consecutive three-point games.
  4. The Kings scored twice on the power play last time out, as forwards Erik Haula and Artemi Panarin each found the back of the net on the man advantage. It was the first multi-goal performance on the power play this season and the first overall since March 14, 2026 in New Jersey. Panarin's goal was also the first 5-on-3 goal of the season for the Kings on three opportunities.
  5. Defenseman Brandt Clarke left Thursday's win over Ottawa in the second period with an upper-body injury. Clarke, who had collected an assist in the game, practiced in full with the Kings yesterday afternoon and is expected to play today, per Head Coach Peter Laviolette. Clarke leads all Los Angeles blueliners with nine points (3-6-9) this season.
