5️⃣ Things To Know For Tonight's Game

  1. The LA Kings got in the win column for the first time this season on Tuesday, as they skated to a 5-2 victory over the Washington Capitals. They'll now look to keep that momentum rolling on Long Island.
  2. The top forward line led the way offensively last time out, as Artemi Panarin (1-2-3), Adrian Kempe (2-0-2) and Alex Laferriere (0-2-2) all collected multiple points in the win over Washington. Panarin now leads the Kings with seven points this season, with Kempe and Laferriere tied for second at six points. A big game for that trio, leading the way against the Capitals.
  3. Panarin has 50 career points (19-31-50) against the Islanders, his most against any one NHL opponent. Last season, Panarin scored his first goal as a member of the Kings organization against the Islanders, coming as a part of a multi-point effort in a 5-3 win back in March.
  4. Defenseman Erik Gustafsson scored the game-winning goal for Los Angeles on Tuesday, his first in a Kings jersey. Gustafsson's tally, an end-to-end, power-play goal, was his first in the NHL since January 12, 2025, which came as a member of the Detroit Red Wings. The Swede ranks sixth among all blueliners this season for the most time spent in the offensive zone, per NHL EDGE.
  5. Goaltender Darcy Kuemper picked up his first victory of the season in Washington, DC and appears to be in line to make another start here tonight. Kuemper has a lifetime record of 10-6-2 against New York, with a .913 save percentage and a 2.54 goals-against average, including a pair of victories versus the Islanders last season.

Players to Watch

Kings - Trevor Moore: Moore is a point-per-game player with nine points (4-5-9) in his last nine games played versus New York. Moore scored a goal in his team's 3-2 win at UBS Arena last season and is one of two members of the Kings to bury a shorthanded goal thus far in the 2026-27 regular season.

Islanders - Bo Horvat: Horvat leads his team in goals (5) and points (10) so far this season. Horvat also led all New York skaters with two goals and three points against the Kings during the 2025-26 campaign. Horvat also won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan.
