The New York Islanders fell 4-2 against the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night at Rogers Place, in the first half in back-to-back games.
Mat Barzal and Cal Clutterbuck put up goals, but the Islanders were unable to keep up with Edmonton's offensive execution with goals from Leon Draisaitl (1G, 1A), Kailer Yamamoto, Dylan Holloway and Zach Hyman. In the second and final meeting of the season between the two teams, the season series is knotted at one apiece.
Ilya Sorokin made 34 saves in his eighth straight start.
