The New York Islanders returned home to a rowdy UBS Arena on Tuesday night and extended their winning streak to three games with a 7-2 triumph over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Zach Parise, Hudson Fasching, Cal Clutterbuck (2G, 1A), Simon Holmstrom, Noah Dobson (ENG, A) and Anders Lee (1G, 1A) scored for the Islanders, who scored seven goals for a second time this season - and first since the second game of the season.
Sam Lafferty and Mitch Marner scored for the Maple Leafs.
With the win, the Islanders (82 points) kept the first wild card in the Eastern Conference, three points ahead of the Florida Panthers (79 points) and four points up on the Pittsburgh Penguins (78 points). In the process, the Isles improved to 10 games over NHL .500 for the first time this season.
