Semyon Varlamov and the New York Islanders shut out the Winnipeg Jets 4-0 on Sunday afternoon at Canada Life Centre, picking up two points to protect their first wild card spot status in the Eastern Conference. The Isles swept the season series against the Jets 2-0 in a five-day span.
Bo Horvat (SHG), Alexander Romanov, Brock Nelson and Adam Pelech (EN) led the way offensively, while Varlamov stopped all 23 shots faced for his second shutout of the season and 38th of his career.
