The New York Islanders blanked the Arizona Coyotes 4-0 on Friday night at UBS Arena and posted their third-straight win.
Brock Nelson scored two third-period goals, while Scott Mayfield and Austin Czarnik got on the board in the first period. Ilya Sorokin made 17 saves in the shutout victory as he recorded his fourth shutout of the season.

Scott Wedgewood made 31 saves on 35 shots in the loss for Arizona.

First Period:
13:51 - NYI 1, ARI 0 -Scott Mayfield wired his shot from atop the right facoeff circle and over Scott Wedgewood's glove side. Adam Pelech and Mathew Barzal recorded the assists.
16:49 - NYI 2, ARI 0 -Austin Czarnik finished off a slick feed from Scott Mayfield on the doorstep to double the Islanders' first-period lead to 2-0. Anders Lee earned the primary assist and Mayfield notched the secondary assists.

Third Period:
1:22 - NYI 3, ARI 0 -Brock Nelson scored off the rush to extend the Islanders' lead 3-0. Adam Pelech and Josh Bailey collected the assists.
9:59 - NYI 4, ARI 0 -Brock Nelson buried his second goal of the game. Anthony Beauvillier and Josh Bailey registered the assists.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders were 0-for-2 on the power play and did not take a penalty.
GOALTENDING BATTLE:
Ilya Sorokin made 17 saves in the shoutout for the Islanders.

Ilya Sorokin made his 23rd start of the season, while his record improved to 11-7-5 and he recorded his fourth shutout of the season… Mayfield scored his second goal of the season and posted an assist… Czarnik buried his second goal of the season and returned to the lineup for the first time since Jan. 13... Nelson scored his team-leading 12th and 13th goals of the season.. Kieffer Bellows was a healthy scratch…The Islanders are 12-4-4 when scoring first and are 2-9-2 when allowing the opening goal… The Islanders are 4-2-1 in the front end and 2-3-1 in the back end.
