The New York Islanders dropped a 4-3 decision to the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night at UBS Arena.

First Period:

Second Period:
3:37 - NYI 1, VAN 0 -Noah Dobson opened the scoring as his one-timer sails past Demko's far side. Brock Nelson and Andy Greene collected assists.
7:10 - VAN 1, NYI 1 - Brad Hunt beat Varlamov to put Vancouver on the board.
11:50 - VAN 2, NYI 1 - J.T. Miller doubled Vancouver's lead 2-0. Brock Boeser and Quinn Hughes tallied the assists.
18:20 - NYI 2, VAN 2 -Off a faceoff win, Kyle Palmieri buried his one timer from Adam Pelech's feed past Thatcher Demko to tie the score 2-2 for the Islanders. Jean-Gabriel Pageau also registered an assist.
Third Period:
1:49 - NYI 3, VAN 2 -Anthony Beauvillier made a nifty move to beat Demko on the goal line and restore the Islanders' lead.
9:34 - VAN 3, NYI 3 - Nils Hoglander tied the score up 3-3 for the Canucks as he tapped in a feed from Conor Garland. Quinn Hughes also recorded an assist.
10:19 - VAN 4 - NYI 3 -Vasily Podkolzin put in Bo Horvat's feed short side of Semyon Varlamov to give Vancouver a 4-3 lead.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
The Islanders did not have a power play were 2-for-2 on the penalty kill.
The Canucks were 0-for-2 on the power play.
GOALTENDING BATTLE:
Semyon Varlamov made 34 saves 38 on shots for the Islanders.
Thatcher Demko made 23 saves 26 on shots for the Canucks.
