Kyle Palmieri was activated off injured reserve on Friday afternoon ahead of the New York Islanders game against the Arizona Coyotes.
Palmieri suffered an upper body injury on Nov. 21 against the Toronto Maple Leafs and has missed the Isles' past 10 games. The Islanders winger has nine points (6G, 3A) in 20 games this year.
Palmieri's activation comes one day after defenseman
Adam Pelech was placed on IR
, retroactive to Dec. 6, with an upper body injury. Pelech's IR designation freed up a roster spot for the Islanders to activate Palmieri without having to send a player to Bridgeport.
Palmieri returned to practice on Monday and also skated with the team during Thursday's practice, as well as Tuesday's morning skate in Boston.
UPDATE: Palmieri and Anthony Beauvillier, who has been out since leaving a Dec. 9 game against New Jersey, will play vs Arizona.
