Otto Koivula

The New York Islanders announced on Wednesday morning that Otto Koivula was recalled from the Bridgeport Islanders, while Andy Andreoff was returned to the minor league affiliate.
Koivula played one NHL game this season, making his season debut on Feb. 14 against the Ottawa Senators. He recorded one hit, one takeaway in 6:36 TOI and went 3-for-6 in the face-off circle. The 24-year-old appeared in 21 games over the course of the last three seasons for the Islanders.

In his fifth season with Bridgeport, Koivula collected 25 points (12G, 13A) through 45 games played. The Islanders 2016 fourth-round pick (120th overall) had a big weekend in Bridgeport, picking up four points (2G, 2A) in three games, including the OT winner in a 5-4 win over the Springfield Thunderbirds on Saturday.
Andreoff played three games with the Islanders this season. He recorded one assist and seven hits over that span. The 31-year-old center has 38 points (20G, 18A) through 46 games in Bridgeport, and leads the Islanders in goals.
