The New York Islanders announced on Friday that forward Otto Koivula was returned to Bridgeport on loan.
Since his recall on Monday, the 24-year-old winger played one game with the Islanders, recording one hit and one takeaway in 6:36 TOI on Tuesday night. He also took six draws and won three of them in the 3-2 shootout loss to the Ottawa Senators. Koivula made 21 NHL appearances for the Islanders over three seasons, with two assists over that span.

"I thought he was fine," Head Coach Lane Lambert said of Koivula's performance on Tuesday. "I think it's a matter of him getting back to [Bridgeport] and playing more. He was playing well there."
The Islanders 2016 fourth round draft pick (120th overall) collected 21 points (10G, 11A) through 42 games played in his fifth season with Bridgeport. The Finland native racked up 145 points (54G, 91A) in 223 career games.
