Ilya Sorokin and CSKA Moscow were the runners-up in the KHL this season, falling in the Gagarin Cup Final to Ak Bars Kazan in five games.

Sorokin, the Islanders' 2014 third-round pick, did not play in game five, backing up Lars Johansson in the final game. Sorokin started games two, three and four in the Gagarin Cup final, picking up CSKA's only win, a 3-2 OT victory in game three.
This marked Sorokin's second trip to the KHL Final, but the 22 year old has lost both appearances, with the other coming in 2016.
Sorokin finishes the postseason with a 10-6-0 record, a 1.52 goals-against average, .930 save percentage and five shutouts. In the regular season, Sorokin went 25-8-4 with a 1.59 GAA. a .931 SV% and eight shutouts.
