William Dufour and the Saint John Sea Dogs were eliminated in the first round of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoffs.
The series went the distance - and then some - but Saint John was eliminated by Rimouski in a 4-3 overtime loss in the fifth-and-deciding game.
Dufour, the Islanders 2020 fifth-round pick (152nd overall) had four points (2G, 2A) in the five game series.

Saint John lost the series opener 3-1 on May 5 before rebounding with a 4-2 win in Game 2 on May 6. Dufour was held off the scoresheet in the Game 1 loss but recorded a goal and an assist in the Game 2 victory. Dufour had the primary assist on the Sea Dogs game-winning goal and potted the insurance marker on the power play.

Dufour scored the insurance goal in Saint John's 5-2 win in Game 3 on May 9 but was held off the scoresheet in a 1-0 loss in Game 4 on May 10.
In the deciding game, Dufour collected an assist on the Sea Dogs first goal in what was a back-and-forth affair. Rimouski opened up a 2-0 lead before Saint John responded with three straight goals. Rimouski forced overtime with a goal midway through the third period and ended it 30 seconds into OT.
While Dufour's bid for a QMJHL title has been thwarted, the 20-year-old still has some hockey left to play this season. Saint John is hosting the 2022 Memorial Cup from June 20-29, so the Sea Dogs automatically qualify as the host team.
