Here's this week's updates on the Isles prospects:

HOLMSTROM AND RAJANIEMI NAMED TO RESPECTIVE WJC SQUADS

Isles prospects, Simon Holmstrom (Sweden) and Mattias Rajaniemi (Finland)

For both Holmstrom and Rajaniemi, this will be their first time competing at the WJC U-20 tournament. Holmstrom suited up for Team Sweden while Rajaniemi dressed for Team Finland at the 2019 Under-18s.
This year's WJC is slated to take place at Edmonton's Rogers Place without fans and in a bubble setup. The tournament will begin on December 25, 2020 and close with the gold medal game scheduled for January 5, 2021.


JEFFERIES PICKS UP TWO PPGS

Alex Jefferies continues to burst onto the scene for the Merrimack Warriors. The freshman, who was drafted by the Isles in the fourth round (121st overall) in the 2020 NHL Draft, scored his second and third goals of the season on Dec. 13.
The winger lit the lamp with two power-play tallies in the first period of Merrimack's eventual 6-3 loss to Northeastern. Through five games of his rookie collegiate season, Jefferies has five points (3G, 2A). Merrimack and Jefferies have begun their season in the Hockey East conference with a 1-3-0 record.


ADAMS SCORES FIRST GOAL OF SENIOR SEASON

Collin Adams and the North Dakota Fighting Hawks are back in action via the NCHC bubble set up in Omaha, Nebraska.
Adams began his senior season on Dec. 2. Adams and North Dakota have since competed in seven games to earn a 4-2-1 record and a second place ranking in the conference with 13 points.
Through seven games, Adams has compiled five points (1G, 4A). The Isles 2016 sixth rounder (170th overall) scored his first goal of the season in a 3-2 loss to Denver on Dec. 8. Most recently, Adams recorded an assist on Dec. 13 in North Dakota's 6-3 win over Western Michigan.


GOLYSHEV SCORES 10TH GOAL OF THE SEASON

Anatoly Golyshev continued his success over in the KHL after scoring his 10th goal of the season for Avtombolist on Dec. 14.
The Isles' 2016 fourth rounder (95th overall) potted his sixth power-play goal of the season in Avtombolist's 4-0 win over Metallurg Mg. Through 32 games this season, Golyshev has 22 points (10G, 12A). He and Avtombolist are ranked 11th overall in KHL with record of 17-11-4.


NOTEABLES:

• Robin Salo (SHL) posted two assists in Orebro's 5-2 win over Farjestad on Dec. 13. The Isles' 2017 second rounder (46th overall) now has three assists in as many games. Through 22 games this season, Salo has totaled 12 points (2G, 10A).
• Logan Cockerill and the Boston University Terriers pushed back their start date once again. BU was slated to open their season with a series against the University of Massachusetts Dec. 11 and 12, but postponed the series and won't begin their season until January,
