Here are this week's updates on the Islanders prospects:

SALO, OREBRO START SHL PLAYOFFS

Robin Salo and Orebro advanced to the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) Playoffs after finishing the regular season in sixth place with a record of 24-4-4-19 (3P-2P-1P-0P).
Salo, who the Islanders selected in the second round (46th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, finished his first full season in the SHL with 30 points (6G, 24A) through 51 games.
Salo and sixth-seeded Orebro began their playoff run with a 1-0 series lead in the best-of-seven series against third-seeded Leksands IF. Orebro defeated Leksands IF on April 11 with a 6-1 score. The 22-year-old defenseman earned one assist in the contest as he dished out his first playoff point on the power play and the sixth goal of the outing.

NEWKIRK RECORDS THREE POINTS

Reece Newkirk recorded in two points (1G, 1A) in the Portland Winterhawks' 6-4 loss against the Everett Silvertips on April 6th. In the contest, the centerman had a hand in back-to-back goals during the first period.
The Islanders' 2019 fifth rounder (147th overall) went on to net his fifth goal of the season a few days later in a 7-6 win against the Spokane Chiefs on April 10.
Newkirk has 12 points (5G, 7A) in 11 games played this season, ranking third in Portland's leaderboard for points.
