No Large Bags Policy Implemented at Barclays Center
BROOKLYN (Oct. 6, 2017) -- Barclays Center will celebrate the start of the Islanders' 2017-18 season with the team's home opener on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres. The doors at Barclays Center will open for the game at 5:30 p.m.
Guests will notice updates for the new season at Barclays Center, starting with the Swag Shop at Barclays Center, which underwent a full renovation this summer.
Parm, an acclaimed casual Italian restaurant named one of the 101 Best Places to Eat in North America by Newsweek, has opened on Suite Level A, adjacent to the 40/40 CLUB by Tanduay Rum. Reservations can be made by visiting barclayscenter.com. The restaurant will also include Parm To-Go, through which fans can bring food back to their seats.

Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 6:45 p.m. for an opening night ceremony that includes a new open video and special puck drop. Marine combat veteran turned GOTHAM actor, J.W. Cortes, will take the ice to sing the national anthem.
For fans coming from Long Island, LIRR will be operating four extra direct trains to Barclays Center as well as four extra trains home; as the LIRR did for all weekend games last season. For a full schedule of trains operating on game nights, fans should visit

Beginning this season, Barclays Center has implemented the following policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable event experience for all guests. No backpacks of any size are permitted, with the exception of single-compartment drawstring bags, and no bags larger than 14"x14"x6" will be allowed inside the venue. Guests who arrive with bags that do not meet the entry requirements will be able to check them at the main entrance. This policy does not apply to working media who is entering at the designated entrance. Special consideration will be made for guests with medical needs and those caring for infants.
A limited number of tickets are still available online at www.ticketmaster.com and at the American Express Box Office at Barclays Center. Fans are encouraged to post photos and follow along on social media throughout the night using #AllForIsles.
Fans that are unable to attend the Oct. 7 game in Brooklyn can watch on MSG+ or listen to the Islanders Radio Network on WFAN AM/FM, and WRHU 88.7 FM.
For the second consecutive season, Islanders games throughout the season will alternate broadcasts on WFAN-AM/FM, the most-listened-to sports radio station in the nation, and AM 970 The Answer. This season, WFAN-AM/FM will broadcast 30 games during the regular season on 660 AM / 101.9 FM. AM 970 The Answer will broadcast 50 regular season games, and its sister station, AM 570 The Mission, will carry two, including the team's 2017-18 season opener against Columbus on Friday, Oct. 6 and the Jan. 16 matchup vs. New Jersey. Games on WFAN will continue to be simulcast on WRHU 88.7 FM, while games on AM 970 will be simulcast on both WRHU and WRCN 103.9 FM.
