Game Notes

The New York Islanders are looking to build off a pair of shutout wins when they host the LA Kings on Saturday night.

The Islanders beat the Boston Bruins 4-0 on Monday and followed it up with a 3-0 win over the Dallas Stars on Thursday, despite making a coaching change on Tuesday.

"More importantly about the win, it was two games in a row," Thomas Hickey said on Thursday. "We played really good hockey, very structured, it was a really good game tonight and six periods in a row and it's something to look on and build on here."

Berube To Start:

Thomas Greiss has recorded consecutive shutouts, but with back-to-back games this weekend, JF Berube is starting on Saturday vs the Kings; his former team. Greiss will face off against the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.

Ladd and Boychuk Out, Clutterbuck TBD:

Andrew Ladd and Johnny Boychuk are both out for Saturday's game with upper-body injuries and are considered day-to-day. Ladd will miss his third straight game, while Boychuk will miss his second. Cal Clutterbuck's status is to be determined, as he's considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
