Last season, the New York Islanders felt like they were at a disadvantage heading into Game 1 against the Lightning, having to fly from Toronto to Edmonton on their lone day after beating the Philadelphia Flyers in seven games. The result, an 8-2 loss, a whacky outlier in an otherwise tight series.
That won't be the case this year, as the Islanders had the benefit of three days off from the end of their series win over Boston, a chance to rest, regroup and study up on a new opponent.
