Casey

The Islanders chapter of the Professional Hockey Writers' Association (PHWA) nominated Casey Cizikas for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy on Monday afternoon.

The PHWA nominates one player per NHL club for the Masterton, which is given annually to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to ice hockey. The three Masterton finalists will be announced at a later date.
Cizikas, who was selected by the Islanders in the fourth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft (92nd overall), has compiled 185 points (81G, 104A) through 589 games over 10 NHL seasons all spent on Long Island. This season, the 30-year-old centerman has compiled 14 points (7G, 7A) through 55 games.
