Kieffer Bellows was one of 28 players named to Team USA's preliminary roster for the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championships in Buffalo.
Bellows won a gold medal with Team USA at the 2017 World Juniors, scoring twice in the 5-4 shootout win over Team Canada. The Islanders' 2016 first-round pick (19th overall) is one of seven players returning from the gold squad. Bellows had three points (2G, 1A) in seven games at last year's tournament.
Bellows is currently in his first season with the WHL's Portland Winterhawks, playing in the Canadian junior league after a season at Boston University. Bellows has 38 points (18G, 20A) in 27 games with Portland this season.
