Mollie Korn is a math teacher at Freeport High School
Tell us about yourself!
This is my third year teaching math at Freeport High School. I am one of the advisors for Freeport’s Mathletes, Peer Leaders, and Sources of Strength. I am also the co-chairperson for the Nassau County Mathematics Tournament. When I’m not in the classroom, you’ll probably find me with a coffee in one hand and a good book in the other. I am so honored to be named the Islanders Teacher of the Month!
If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?
If I were to play hockey, I would love to be a goalie. It is a position that requires a lot of concentration and quick reflexes. It seems like it would be both challenging and rewarding to be the player everyone relies on to keep the puck out of the net.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by seeing the positive impact I can have on my students’ lives. Helping them grow academically and personally is incredibly rewarding.
