The Vegas Golden Knights skated to a 5-0 victory in Game 1 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round series against the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton. Vegas leads the best-of-seven series, 1-0.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Jonathan Marchessault's third goal of the postseason got the Golden Knights started on the right foot as they took a 1-0 lead in the opening frame. Vegas used goals from Reilly Smith, Mark Stone and Alex Tuch in the middle period to take a 4-0 lead through 40 minutes. Max Pacioretty's second goal of the playoffs came midway through the third to extend the Golden Knights' edge to 5-0.

TOP PERFORMERS
Reilly Smith: Smith recorded two points (1G, 1A) in the win. He also had a multi-point showing in Game 1 against Chicago.
Mark Stone: Stone put up two points (1G, 1A) for his 10th point of the playoffs.
Shea Theodore: Theodore chipped in from the blueline with two assists.
Alex Tuch:Tuch's two-point outing (1G, 1A) signaled the team's depth the top-to-bottom victory.
Robin Lehner: Lehner was a perfect 26-for-26 for his first NHL playoff shutout.
STAT OF THE KNIGHT
On Vegas' third goal, Stone scored his fifth goal of the playoffs while Nate Schmidt and William Karlsson each notched their fifth assist of the postseason. On the very next goal, Tuch scored his fifth while Nick Cousins and Theodore earned their fifth assists of the playoffs as well.
