Brandon Pirri registered three points (2G, 1A) and Garret Sparks stopped all 24 shots for the Vegas Golden Knights as they improved to 2-0 in the preseason with a 5-0 victory against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday night at Pepsi Center.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Valentin Zykov opened the scoring early for the Golden Knights as he was credited with a goal that went in off a Colorado defenseman early in the first. In the second period, Pirri netted a power-play goal to increase the Vegas lead to 2-0. Nic Hague and Nicolas Roy scored goals just 46 seconds apart to double the advantage to 4-0 early in the third period. Zykov set up Pirri for one last strike late in the third as the Golden Knights claimed the five-goal win.
