Jonathan Marchessault scored his first career playoff hat trick as the Vegas Golden Knights used a 5-1 victory in Game 4 to tie their series with the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday night at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Brandon Saad recorded the game's first goal just 1:50 into the game to give the Avalanche a 1-0 lead. Midway through the second, Marchessault scored to tie the game and the teams entered the break level at 1-1. Max Pacioretty buried his third goal of the playoffs 1:11 into the middle frame and Marchessault followed up 10 minutes later to give the Golden Knights a 3-1 advantage. Early in the third, Marchessault completed the hat trick at 6:01 of the third period and Patrick Brown tacked on a late goal to make it a 5-1 game. Marc-Andre Fleury finished with 17 saves as Vegas tied the series.
