The Vegas Golden Knights (23-8-1) topped the Colorado Avalanche (21-9-3), 3-2, on Saturday afternoon in Denver to remain ahead in the Honda West.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
In the opening frame at Ball Arena, Vegas struck on the power play with a tally from Alec Martinez but found themselves down 2-1 after one. Early in the second, William Carrier deflected in a Shea Theodore shot to even the score. The score stayed tied until overtime when Max Pacioretty gave the Golden Knights the win, 3-2, over the Avalanche.

TOP PERFORMERS
Max Pacioretty: Pacioretty recorded two points including his fourth overtime goal of the season.
Marc-Andre Fleury: In his second-straight game, the veteran made 22 saves on 24 shots to earn his 17th win.
William Carrier: Carrier scored his second tally of the season early in the second period.
