LAST TIME OUT
The Golden Knights trailed the Anaheim Ducks, 1-0, with less than two minutes to go Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas pulled Marc-Andre Fleury for the extra skater and it paid off as William Karlsson netted his first goal of the season to tie the game at 1-1. Just seven seconds into overtime, Mark Stone fed Max Pacioretty for the game-winning goal as the Golden Knights won for the first time in their gold jerseys.
2019-20 SEASON SERIES
In three games in 2019-20, the Golden Knights went 2-1-0 against the Coyotes. Arizona picked up a 4-1 victory on Oct. 10 in their first meeting of the year. Vegas flipped the script on Nov. 29 as Alex Tuch scored in regulation and the shootout to give the Golden Knights a 2-1 win. Vegas and Arizona met for what became their last meeting of the season on Dec. 28 as Shea Theodore (3A) and Mark Stone (2G) led the Golden Knights to a 4-1 win.
OPPOSITION UPDATE
In their first two games of the season, the Coyotes picked up three-of-four points against the San Jose Sharks as they lost in a shootout on Jan. 14 and snagged a 5-3 win on Jan. 16. Five skaters have registered three points in the early goings of the season as Phil Kessel (3G), Clayton Keller (2G, 1A), Conor Garland (1G, 2A), Jacob Chychurn (1G, 2A) and Oliver Ekman-Larsson (3A) have produced offensively. Ekman-Larsson will not make the trip to Vegas as the Coyotes' captain went down with a lower-body injury.
WESTERN ROUNDUP
The Golden Knights and Minnesota Wild share the top spot in the Honda West division as both teams have accrued four points. Arizona ranks third with three points while Colorado, St. Louis, San Jose and Los Angeles each have two points. Anaheim sits eighth with one point.

KEYS TO THE GAME
Outscore Arizona: Pretty self-explanatory, but there are layers to how Vegas will look to play against the Coyotes. Arizona isn't afraid to try things offensively even if it's at the cost of defensive structure. If it turns into a track meet, the Golden Knights simply need to be the faster runners.
Strong Finishes:In both games against the Ducks, the Golden Knights saved their best for last as they scored three third-period goals on Jan. 14 and used a late game-tying goal and a quick overtime goal to win on Jan. 16. Vegas wants to start strong, but if strong finishes are producing results, stick with what works.
