The Vegas Golden Knights (1-1-0) fell to the Anaheim Ducks (1-0-0), 4-3, on Friday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
With eight seconds remaining in the first period, Beckett Sennecke scored the Ducks' first goal of the season. Alex Killorn and Jeff Malott tallied 55 seconds apart, and Leo Carlsson found the back of the net to give Anaheim a 4-0 edge going into the final frame. Five minutes into the third period, Shea Theodore scored Vegas' first goal with help from Brett Howden and Jack Eichel. Howden picked up the puck following a corner battle from Eichel, sending a pass to Theodore from behind the net where he fired it home from the dot.

A minute and a half later, Tomas Hertl scored his first of the season on the power play from a net-front pass by Mitch Marner. Eichel earned his second assist of the night, totaling five points in two games. With 2:50 remaining in the third period, Braeden Bowman brought the Golden Knights within one on a wrist shot. Bowman picked up the rebound from a shot by Victor Olofsson to make it 4-3, but Vegas ultimately fell short in the end.
