Klimchuk started the week with two goals and four points in the Heat's 7-5 victory in San Diego on Wednesday.
"I just felt a little more confident with the puck," he told StocktonHeat.com following the win. "Fortunately, I was able to make a couple plays and things were definitely going our way offensively ... It's nice to get the points but to get the win on the road is even better."
After the Gulls jumped out to a lead in the first period, it was Klimchuk who sparked Stockton's offence. Taking advantage of a San Diego turnover, the Calgary, AB product slipped the puck underneath goaltender Matt Hackett's pad at the 15:57 mark of the opening stanza to tie to the game.
In the second period, he earned the primary assist on Daniel Pribyl's goal when the rebound from his deflection landed on the Czech forward's stick and he tossed it over Hackett's shoulder.
Klimchuk closed out the game with a goal mid-way through the third period, beating the goaltender blocker side with a quick wrist shot, and an assist an Ryan Lomberg's empty-net tally.
"As far as Morgan [Klimchuk] is concerned - he deserves a night like this. He works hard and does things the right way, so to see him get rewarded, you can't help but feel good for him," head coach Ryan Huska said afterwards.
Two nights later, Klimchuk scored a goal and two points in Stockton's 6-5 setback to Tucson.
Klimchuk's assist came in the first period when his shot was tipped by Linden Vey and beat netminder Adin Hill.
He scored his fourth goal of the season in the second period, taking a shot from the slot and beating Hill at the 6:02 mark.
Klimchuk's already one point shy of his rookie season total but his production hasn't surprised Conroy. He was a prolific scorer during his days in the Western Hockey League and the Flames feel he has all the tools needed to produce as a pro.
"The one thing about Morgan is unfortunately he got hurt before Penticton and he wasn't able to show (in training camp) as well as he could. But what he has shown is hey … he wins the rookie fitness testing every year so we know he's in great shape.
"We needed him to actually play games to get going, get that confidence.
"We knew he was a goal scorer. Now, he's showing that in the American League and that's going to give him the chance to get back up here."
