SEASON SERIES:Wednesday's game is the second and final meeting between the Flames and Philadelphia Flyers in the 2016-17 regular season. The Flames dropped the first match-up in the season series by a score of 5-3 in Philadelphia. TJ Brodie, Matthew Tkachuk and Alex Chiasson scored while Chad Johnson made 38 saves in that setback.

FLYERS' TEAM SCOPE:The Flyers are looking to push themselves closer to an Eastern Conference Wildcard spot on Wednesday when they kick off their Western Canadian road swing in Calgary. With 61 points on the year, they trail the Toronto Maple Leafs by two points and would pull even with the Leafs with a win on Wednesday. Jakub Voracek (14 goals, 47 points), Claude Giroux (12 goals, 41 points) and Wayne Simmonds (23 goals, 40 points) lead the Flyers in scoring. Steve Mason has carried the load in net, going 16-17-6 with a 2.90 GAA and a .900 save percentage this year. Philadelphia will be without Travis Konecny (lower body, injured reserve) and Michael Del Zotto (leg, day-to-day) could miss Wednesday's game.
FLAMES' TEAM SCOPE: The Flames are looking to rebound after dropping a 5-0 loss to the Arizona Coyotes on Monday. Johnson made 19 saves in the first two periods before being relieved by Brian Elliott in the final frame, who stopped eight of the nine shots he faced. The loss halted Calgary's bid to jump back into a postseason spot, with Nashville (62 points) and Los Angeles (60 points) sitting ahead of them in the two Western Conference Wildcard spots. Neither the Predators or the Kings are in action on Tuesday or Wednesday, meaning a victory over the Flyers would leapfrog the Flames over Los Angeles for the second Wildcard position.
