Flames prospect Jakob Pelletier is on the move in the QMJHL.

The forward was traded by the Moncton Wildcats to the Val D'Or Foreurs during the 2020 QMJHL Entry Draft as a part of a package that included multiple picks heading back to Moncton.

Pelletier was the Flames' first round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, selected 26th overall.

Pelletier spent the past three seasons with the Wildcats after being selected third overall in the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft. During that span, he scored 94 goals and 232 points in 182 regular season games. In the playoffs, he amassed four goals and eight points in 17 games. He ranks eight all-time in career points for the franchise.

In 2019-20, he was named the 28th captain in Moncton's history, posted 32 goals and 82 points in 57 games, and won the Frank J. Selke Trophy, which is awarded annually to the QMJHL's most sportsmanlike player.

The Flames signed the Quebec, QC product to a three-year entry-level contract on Sept. 23, 2019.
