FINDING THE RANGE
The Flames come into this afternoon's tilt on a three-game winning streak. They know they will have their hands full with the Rangers and coach Glen Gulutzan was happy to get Friday's game in against the Devils before they crossed the river to skate at MSG.
"They're fast and they're big," said Gulutzan of the Blueshirts. "I'm really glad we got that Jersey game under our belt because I thought the first period was about as fast as I've seen an NHL game this year. The East seems to me has a lot more tempo than the West. The West is a little heavier and more physical. But we have to adapt our speed here to play the teams here and I think the Rangers are one of those teams. They have a little bit of a hybrid, they're big but they're real quick too."

DID YOU KNOW?
With nine goals in his last 10 games, Flames centre Sean Monahan needs just one more tally to reach 100 in his young career. He will become the youngest Flames to achieve the lofty mark so soon.
"For me it's tough to comment on the 100 goals," said Gulutzan. "I think that's an impressive feat for a young guy, especially with the history of this organization. So credit to him. But the thing I like most about Sean is his character. And I just think he's a guy you can win with when you have that type of character in a young man. And it's impressive he has the goals but I think what's more impressive with him is how he conducts himself."
WINNING FEELS GOOD
The Flames are a confident group coming into Sunday's tilt with the Rangers. Winning will do that for you. Two huge OT victories during their three-game winning streak has got the club walking with a bit of a swagger right now.
Gulutzan said it's amazing how quickly things can change for teams in the NHL.
"There's only two emotions I was told by Marc Crawford in this league when I first started in Dallas," said Gulutuzan. "He said there's winning and there's misery. And I didn't really understand that when I first came into the American Hockey League but I certainly understand what Marc was talking about now."
