THE RINKS Top Flight Street Hockey Program, a program designed for those with special needs, will host its first free on-ice hockey event this Saturday, Nov. 5 from 3:20-4:20 p.m. at THE RINKS - Lakewood ICE. The debut of the new ice hockey event is open to the public and will allow past Top Flight participants as well as new attendees to trade in their street hockey shoes for a pair of skates to try ice hockey for the first time. The Top Flight programming has previously focused on street hockey, but this event will look to expand the program to ice hockey to encourage participants to try a new type of game. The Top Flight program presented by the Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) has become a staple within THE RINKS community with each season seeing growth and increased participation.
