"Playing 100 games is something that I'm super proud of," Carrick said. "If you look at it, I'm 30 years old, it's my 10th year pro, it might not seem like a lot to some people, but to me it's a pretty big deal and more importantly, for my family too."
Carrick has set career bests this season in goals, games played (53), assists (seven), points (18) and penalty minutes (73).
"I'm extremely proud of him," head coach Dallas Eakins said. "I've known Sammy since he turned pro. He was 20 years old at the time. It's been my privilege to coach him and watch him not only grow into a player but into a husband and into a father. He has a family now. It's been nothing but my privilege to watch his work ethic, his discipline, his grit, him never stop competing and never giving up."
Chicago restored the lead in the middle frame with another power-play goal as Kane one-timed a pass from Alex DeBrincat before Gibson could slide across his crease.
The Hawks held that one-goal lead deep into the third period, but once again a heads-up play by Carrick tied the game. The Ducks controlled an offensive zone faceoff with Zegras firing a low slapshot on net. Lankinen made the initial stop but could not corral the rebound before a hard-crashing Carrick pushed it just over the line to level the score at two.
