The Ducks will look to bounce back after having their NHL-best eight-game winning streak and 10-game point streak (8-0-2) snapped in Thursday's loss to Carolina at Honda Center. Anaheim outscored its opponents 33-13 over the undefeated stretch. The 10-game point streak also marked the seventh such run in club history.
Despite the setback to the Hurricanes, Ducks winger Troy Terry extended his scoring streak to 16 games, moving past Ryan Getzlaf for the third-longest mark in Ducks history. The only Ducks in franchise history with a longer point streak than Terry are Teemu Selanne (17 games in 1999) and Corey Perry (19, 2009). Terry's streak also sits one game behind Connor McDavid for the longest in the NHL this season. Over the last 10-plus NHL seasons (since 2011), Terry, McDavid and Jack Eichel (17 games in 2019-20) are the only three players under 25 years of age to have point streaks of 16-or-more games.
Terry ranks tied for fourth among league leaders in points (12-10=22) and goals, and paces Anaheim in scoring, goals and GWG (3). The 24-year-old winger has 12 goals in his last 14 games (12-6=18, +9) and nine goals his last 10 appearances (9-5=14).
The Ducks also continue to generate scoring from its blueliners. Anaheim's defensemen collectively rank third in goals (12) and fourth in scoring (12-34=46) among NHL defensive corps. The duo Kevin Shattenkirk (4-10=14) and Cam Fowler (3-10=13) has led the way, as they are the seventh pair of defensemen to record 13-plus points through their team's first 18 games since the start of the 2019-20 season.
Anaheim's lineup could include a few changes tonight as the Ducks recalled forwards Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Vinni Lettieri after assigning rookie Mason McTavish to Peterborough (OHL). Veteran forward Rickard Rakell, recovering from an upper-body injury, also recently rejoined the Ducks at practice and could be nearing his return to action.
Anaheim is making its first trip to the Music City since January 2020, a 4-2 Ducks win. The Ducks are 42-26-8 all-time against the Predators.
The Predators return home to host the Ducks after playing eight of their past nine games away from Bridgestone Arena. Nashville dropped both contests in its two-game trip through eastern Canada, getting outscored 9-3 in losses to Toronto and Montreal. The Predators are currently wedged in the middle of the Central Division with a 9-7-1 record, good for fourth place.
Anaheim and Nashville will play a three-game season series, with the lone Southern California matchup scheduled for March 21 at Honda Center.
