ANAHEIM DUCKS
Jonathan Bernier
On his performance
Tonight was my best game. I saw the puck really well, and the puck stuck to me. I made a mistake on that goal, but I thought it was the right play. I just didn't execute it. I thought overall we played a really good game as a team. We competed hard tonight. We just came up short on scoring a couple of goals.
On feeling comfortable
I felt much better tonight than in the first game. The first couple of games you play, they seem very long, mentally. As you get more games, it gets easier.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the game
You're not going to win many games if you're not scoring goals. We had opportunities, but I think Jonathan Quick had the luxury of seeing a lot of them, too. He's a world-class goalie. He made some big stops. These are what exhibition games are for. If you look at our lineup, we had a lot of kids in there and we played some people back to back. We don't really have our veterans available to us. We'll just continue to evaluate our kids.
On Bernier's performance
I thought he was good. It was a mistake that he made, but it's a game of mistakes. That's how close the NHL is. You fault a guy for the mistake, but he made some big stops and bailed us out in some situations earlier in the hockey game and later when I thought our game kind of deteriorated after we had the power play in the second period. It kind of went sideways on us for about 12-15 minutes of the hockey game. Again, it's an evaluation. You look at the score and you're not happy because we haven't won a hockey game in preseason, but it's not the end of the world. These points do not count.
LOS ANGELES KINGS
Jonathan Quick
On the feel of the game
It felt like another game.
On the Ducks' shot attempts
Whatever is thrown your way you try to stop, whether it's a little or a lot you stop them. It's your job.
Rob Scuderi
On Quick's play
It's always impressive. He had a kick start to the season with the world cup. I know it did not necessarily go well for the United States as a team, but I thought he played very well. It's not surprising to see him come in and play well. He's had a ten day break but it's hard to be impressed when you've seen it so many times.
On playing without Doughty and Kopitar
You know they are going to fit in seamlessly. They are both top end players. I don't think that's in issue I think preseason is more about putting your best foot forward and learning how to play as a team. It's more about getting yourself prepared and make sure you're doing the right things and getting ready for the season.
Assistant Coach Davis Payne
On Jonathan Quick
He was really sharp, we needed him to be sharp and he was ready to go. As the game went on he made big saves, not quite as frequently but when the good chances came at him he made the saves.
On Quick's ability to jump back in
He's been playing pretty good to this point. He wants to win every time he puts the gear on, so you know you are going to get a completive effort out of him.
