Postgame Quotes
Anaheim Ducks
Ryan Getzlaf
On the game
We did too much standing around. The intensity wasn't there with our legs. I thought in the first period we played okay. Not outstanding, but okay. Down a goal. We got a big goal at the end of the second and the start of the third, and then took a penalty again and weren't able to kill it. We lost the special teams tonight.
On the penalties
We took stick penalties. There is no aggression in a stick penalty. The standard was that they were definitely going to call the slashes, but they called them both ways. We have to be mentally stronger and ready to play coming off days off.
Rickard Rakell
On the disappointment of the loss
It's very disappointing. Really need to have a good stretch especially against divisional teams. We knew they played yesterday. We need to take advantage of that.
On the inconsistent play tonight
We had some early chances in the game that we didn't score on. They scored first instead. Maybe we got a little frustrated and that affected the way we moved forward. Maybe that was it tonight.
Head Coach Randy Carlyle
On the loss
It's one of those you leave scratching your head. Coming off a day off, you'd have more energy and that would be tilted in your favor, playing against a team that played last night. They should be the tired ones. We didn't execute with the puck at all. We were chasing the majority of the game. We didn't give them a lot, but the ones we gave them they made count.
On the penalties
We took five minors. In the game, the referees were calling the slashing to a higher level than we've seen in the last little while. You can't give the opposition's power play five chances to practice against you. The killer one was we started the third period and scored a goal to get ourselves within one. Then we take a tripping penalty and they end up scoring a goal. That really set the tone for the rest of the period. We didn't really have much of a comeback after that point.

On making big saves in the first period
It gets you into it right away. They came out hard. We were a little tired on a back-to-back, but we handled it. We kind of fought off the storm.
On defensive play
For the most part, they are always really good. Blocked a lot of shots. Our D-zone [defensive zone] coverage was great tonight. Forwards helping out as well. I think we just worked as a full 5-man unit all night long.
Kevin Labanc
On his goal
Definitely felt really good. It was a great opportunity and if I missed that, that would have definitely not been good. It was a great pass by Jumbo [Joe Thornton] too.
On their energy level
It was good. We were definitely a little bit tired. Got little bumps and bruises. We just had to play a structured game. We out-smarted them. We were blocking shots and we were in on the fore-check as well.
Head Coach Peter DeBoer
On playing back-to-back games and getting a win
Deller [Aaron Dell] was excellent again. That's where it starts for us. We got scoring contributions from the depth of our line-up and guys who haven't been getting on the board a lot lately.
On Aaron Dell's play
We were under siege there for a while and he made a couple big saves for us. We have been getting goaltending like that all year and that has been critical.
