Max Comtois scored two goals in the first 7:58 of the game tonight at Vegas, marking the fastest two goals by an NHL player to start a season in over 15 years.

The last NHL player to score two goals in the first eight minutes of a season was Jeremy Roenick of the Los Angeles Kings, who scored two goals in the first 4:18 on Oct. 5, 2005 at Dallas.
Comtois is the 11th player in NHL history to score two goals within the first eight minutes of a club's season. It was also the fastest two goals to start a season in Ducks history, besting Joffrey Lupul's two goals 22:19 into the season on Oct. 5, 2005 at Chicago.
Comtois also scored in his NHL debut 49 seconds into his career on Oct. 3, 2018 at San Jose, which was the fastest to start an NHL career since 1989 (Alexander Mogilny). That was also the Ducks season opener.
