The Devils defeated the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, tonight at Prudential Center with goals by Pavel Zacha, Andy Greene (PPG) and Kyle Palmieri. Here's what we learned:
1) The Devils put up 40 shots tonight and as Taylor Hall said after the game, "Any time you get 40 shots, you put yourself in a good position to win." Their main focus in the first period was to start the game strong and eliminate Colorado's opportunities because they're known to come out of the gate strong.
2) In Taylor Hall's last ten games, he's tallied two goals on 37 shots, including six tonight. But even without the goals, he's been a driving force on the Devils offense.
3) The Devils third line of Stefan Noesen, Jacob Josefson and Pavel Zacha has been absolutely on fire since the addition of Noesen on January 26th when the Devils claimed him off waivers from Anaheim. In the seven games since, they have been responsible for 6 goals and 14 points.
The Devils will hit the ice for practice tomorrow before hosting the Ottawa Senators on Thursday.
