The Return to Regina
I came back home to Saskatchewan and I kind of just hung out at my cabin in Regina Beach. It had been snowing here so, the ice was still on the lake, so we did some ice fishing and just hung out. Being able to do that is not something I am usually able to do (with my typical schedule) often, and being home during these seasons that you're never home for, like during the fall and springtime, it was nice. A change of pace. It's a little different, but it's been good.
Learning Jersey
Columbus is kind of a small city, small town feel, so I think Jersey is sort of the complete opposite, from what I've heard. Every time we'd come to Jersey from Columbus for a game, it was really just a one-day trip - you're in and out so quick that you don't really get to do anything. So, I'm looking forward to some new scenery, checking the area out, and experiencing some new things. I'll have to try out some Jersey bagels.
Garden State Salutations
Damon Severson is from Saskatchewan, so I called him as soon as I found out I was traded, and then we reconnected later in the week again and talked a little bit about the area and whatnot. I also talked to a few guys on the team, some of the management and staff. Everyone was really welcoming, so it was really nice to hear from those guys.
Keeping Busy
I watched Tiger King when that came out - that was big. I also watched a lot of the docuseries on Netflix that everyone watched and read some books on the kindle. Those were long days in quarantine, to keep yourself occupied. Was able to see some friends, hang out, and do some different seasonal stuff. Honestly, it's been boring. It's hard having fall without hockey.
