CHICAGO -- After choosing Nico Hischier first overall in the 2017 NHL Draft on Friday night, the New Jersey Devils selected 10 more players on Day 2 at United Center.
Here's a list of the newest Devils, along with analysis from members of the team's scouting staff.

!Jesper Boqvist
No. 36 (second round): Jesper Boqvist - Forward - Falun, Sweden - 6'0/180 lbs - Brynas (SHL)
"He's a very skilled player, really good speed and puck skills, a player that we see as an offensive type of player. He split last season between junior and the men's team, and it was a little bit of a trying year for him as he tried to find the right spot for him, but sometimes it's a good part of development to face some adversity. He's a very talented player and we're very happy to have him." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
!Fabian Zetterlund
No. 63 (third round): Fabian Zetterlund - Forward - Karlstad, Sweden - 5'11/195 lbs - Farjestad (SHL)
"He's one of the hardest workers I've scouted all year. He's got a competitive edge to his game and no fear going to the net - does that every chance he gets - and he's got a pretty skill package to go with it. We like him a lot." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
!Reilly Walsh
No. 81 (third round): Reilly Walsh - Defense - Andover, NH - 6'0/185 lbs - Proctor Academy /Chicago Steel (USHL)
"Reilly is a smaller offensive defenseman that's got really good speed and skill. He's going to Harvard, so he's probably smarter than all of us, but that's OK. He's an excellent skater and needs to get stronger and I'm sure he will. He'll get a lot of ice time at Harvard and he'll have some time there to develop." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
!Nikita Popugaev
No. 98 (fourth round): Nikita Popugaev - Forward - Moscow, Russia - 6'6/205 lbs - Prince George Cougars (WHL)
"He's a huge kid. He's a player with first-round ability written all over him. He faced a little adversity this year, but that happens, and like I said, I think that can be a good thing for a player's development. But honestly, I never thought he'd drop to the fourth round because he's got an incredible shot. One of our scouts absolutely loves this kid and he's seen him play a lot, and we're really excited that we got him. He's got a lot of upside." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
!Gilles Senn
No. 129 (fifth round): Gilles Senn - Goalie - Saas-Almagell, Switzerland - 6'5/190 lbs - Davos (NLA)
"This is his third year eligible for the Draft - he's a 21-year-old - and he earned an opportunity to play with Davos this season because of injury and played far too well for them in the regular season and in the playoffs for us not to take notice." - Gates Orlando, assistant director of amateur scouting
!Marian Studenic
No. 143 (sixth round) Marian Studenic - Forward - Holic, Slovakia - 6'0/165 lbs - Hamilton Bulldogs (OHL)
"Two of our scouts were really passionate about this kid and they were arguing to take him higher. He's a good skater and has] good puck skills, good speed, good hands and he's just learning the North American game. He's not a go-to guy, but he had some time on special teams and he could have a big year coming up." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
![Aarne Talvitie

No. 160 (sixth round): Aarne Talvitie - Forward - Espoo, Finland - 5'1" 198 lbs - Blues U20 (SM-Liiga
"He was captain of the U18 team for Finland and he's got an unbelievable work ethic. He's not a huge kid, but his leadership skills and the way he competes on every shift more than make up for it. He's got a lot of skill too. He's not just a grinder and he's committed to Penn State. I'm not sure if he's going there this year or playing in the USHL first, but we have some time for him to develop and see what happens." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
!Jocktan Chainey
No. 191 (seventh round): Jocktan Chainey - Defense - Asbestos, QC - 6'1/194 lbs - Halifax Mooseheads (QMJHL)
"He's a two-way defenseman and like all young D, he's got a chance to learn and get stronger, quicker, faster. He's got some good qualities and some good tools to work with and our development coaches will work with him and hopefully, he'll make some good strides this season." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
!Yegor Zaitsev
No. 205 (seventh round): Yegor Zaitsev - Defense - Moscow, Russia - 6'0/185 lbs - Dynamo Moscow (KHL)
"He's a hard-nosed defenseman that's a "hit first, grab the puck second" type of player, has a big shot, is really mobile. He needs to work on his quickness, but he's a really smart player and makes good decisions with the puck and we're really happy to have him in our organization." - Drake Braun, amateur scout (Russia)
!Matthew Hellickson
No. 214 (seventh round): Matthew Hellickson - Defense - St Louis Park, MN - 6'0/187 lbs - Sioux City Musketeers (USHL)
"This is his second time going through the draft. He's a kid who played for the National Team Development Program, and they carry eight defenseman and sometimes you can get lost in the shuffle if you're not in the top four or five, because you're not getting much time on special teams, but he's a good skater. We saw him when we went out to scout one of his teammates in Sioux City, and we just kept saying "We gotta keep an eye on this guy, because he's a good skater and moves the puck so well." He's going to college too - Notre Dame - so we have some time to see what he can do." - Paul Castron, director of amateur scouting
