Vancouver, B.C. – Vancouver Canucks General Manager Ryan Johnson announced today that the club has signed goaltender Chris Driedger to a Professional Tryout (PTO) agreement and hired Sean Finn as an Amateur Scout.
Driedger, 32, appeared in 23 games with Traktor Chelyabinsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) in 2025.26, posting an 8-9-2 record with a 3.05 goals-against average, an .897 save percentage, and one shutout.
In 67 career NHL games, split between the Ottawa Senators, Florida Panthers, and Seattle Kraken, the 6’4”, 210lbs goaltender holds a record of 31-24-5 with a 2.45 goals-against average, a .917 save percentage, and five shutouts. He has also appeared in three Stanley Cup playoff games, going 0-1 with a 3.69 goals-against average and an .871 save percentage. He has also played in 217 career AHL games, split between the Binghamton Senators, Belleville Senators, Springfield Thunderbirds, Coachella Valley Firebirds, Charlotte Checkers, and Manitoba Moose, posting a 106-78-24 record with a 2.74 goals-against average, a .910 save percentage, and eight shutouts. In 18 career Calder Cup playoff appearances, Driedger is 12-6 with a 2.67 goals-against average, a .906 save percentage, and one shutout.
The Winnipeg, MB, native has represented Canada internationally on multiple occasions, including the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge and the 2022 World Championships, winning silver.
Driedger was originally selected by the Ottawa Senators in the third round, 76th overall, in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Finn joins the Canucks having previously spent seven seasons in the KHL in a variety of roles, including the Director of Player Development and Director of Hockey Operations for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl from 2015 to 2020, the Youth Hockey Supervisor for Avangard Omsk from 2020 to 2021, and as a Development Coach for Kunlun Red Star during the 2022.23 season.
