20220420 - Harvey-Pinard - Practice

BROSSARD -- The Canadiens practiced at the Bell Sports Complex on Wednesday.

A couple of hours before the on-ice session began, the club announced that forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard was recalled from the AHL's Laval Rocket.
He skated with the rest of the group on the South Shore and will play against the Flyers on Thursday night at the Bell Centre.
This marks Harvey-Pinard's second stint with the Habs this season.
The 23-year-old made his NHL debut on December 28 in Tampa Bay and scored a goal.
"I'm really excited to be here. It'll be another great experience," said Harvey-Pinard, who boasts a team-leading 51 points (19 goals, 32 assists) in 64 games with Laval. "I'm going to make the most of it. I'll give everything I have to show the organization what I can do."

Harvey-Pinard on developing his game in Laval

The former seventh-round selection's three previous appearances with Montreal came on road ice, so the matchup with Philadelphia will be his home debut.
Talk about a unique moment…
"It's very special. I'm really looking forward to it. I've been watching the Canadiens play at the Bell Centre since I was a kid. It's such a noisy rink," mentioned Harvey-Pinard. "I can't wait to experience that atmosphere. It's special to play here."

The youngster already has a fan in veteran Brendan Gallagher.
He believes Harvey-Pinard has a bright future.
"He's a kid that's worked for everything he's had. Everywhere he's gone, he's been a good teammate. Coaches love having him on the team. Those are usually the guys that progress and move on. He's very happy to listen to advice and he's very happy to learn," praised Gallagher. "Last year when I went down to Laval, I played a game on his line, and he's a very smart player as well. I think going forward here, he's got a lot of potential and a lot of promise. He's continued to work so far, so there's no reason for that to change. He's got a real good shot of being in this league for a long time."
Updates on Byron, Evans
Paul Byron suffered a lower-body injury during Tuesday night's 2-0 loss to the Wild.
He's undergoing further medical tests and won't play versus the Flyers. The team should know more about his condition in the coming days.
It's another setback for Byron, who continues to be plagued by injuries after battling back from offseason hip surgery.
The 32-year-old winger has been limited to just 27 games this season.
Gallagher spoke about Byron's recent health struggles.
"He's been gutting it out this year. It's frustrating, obviously. You can relate to what he's going through, and it's not easy, so I think like a lot of us, he's probably looking forward to the offseason to put in some work on his body and just re-energize," said Gallagher. "You feel bad for him. He worked hard to get back in the lineup. You know Pauly is going to work to get back, get healthy, and hopefully stay that way."

Brendan Gallagher on Rafaël Harvey-Pinard's potential

Jake Evans, meanwhile, is dealing with a non-COVID-related illness that forced him to miss Tuesday's contest. He remains day-to-day.
Gallagher on Price: "He's the same Pricey in there"
Interim head coach Martin St-Louis didn't confirm his starting goaltender for the Philadelphia game.
That news should come at the morning skate.
Carey Price hasn't played consecutive games yet, so it would be another important test for his surgically repaired knee.

The 34-year-old has been solid in his previous two outings since returning to the lineup, compiling a .918 save percentage by stopping 45 of 49 total shots.
Gallagher shared his impressions of his long-time teammate.
"He looks like the same old guy we've seen for over a decade around here. It would be nice to score a damn goal for the guy and give him a chance, but he's doing his job. We're working on it. I think our game is progressing, so hopefully we'll get him a win here pretty soon," shared Gallagher. "He's the same Pricey in there. He's calm, cool, making big saves and making it look easy."
Price is only three starts shy of 700 for his NHL career.
