TORONTO - Despite a well-executed and tightly-fought contest, the Canadiens dropped Game 3 by a 1-0 score and now trail the Flyers 2-1 in their best-of-seven series. The Habs have a chance to pull even in the series with Tuesday afternoon's tilt, the first of a back-to-back at Scotiabank Arena.

Here's what you need to know ahead of Game 4.

In the room

Icing the same lineup he from Game 3's convincing 5-0 win over Philadelphia, the Canadiens knew the Flyers would rebound with a strong game of their own, and the top-seeded team in the East delivered the goods. Montreal edged Philly 23-20 in shots, but the Habs were outhit 36-23 and trailed 24-10 in blocked shots and 51%-49% in the faceoff dot. Both teams were perfect on the penalty kill.

Watch list

Jesperi Kotkaniemi: The Canadiens are counting more and more on the young center. The 20-year-old Finn was deployed for 19:32 of ice time on Sunday night, including three minutes with the man advantage. Kotkaniemi has four goals, 28 hits, and has won 60.9% of his draws in the postseason.

Brendan Gallagher: Gallagher has yet to light the lamp in the playoffs, but he leads the NHL in shots with 31. He's also been on the ice for 25 Canadiens scoring chances, according to Natural Stat Trick. He's due to break out any minute now.

They said it

Habs associate coach Kirk Muller on making adjustments on the power play, which went 0-for-3 in Game 3:

"We don't want to be a one-and-done power play. We want to get into the zone and have confidence to set up and execute the plays that the guys want to execute. I think the key is, [the Flyers] have done a good job of, similarly to our PK in this series, of really making it that it's one shot and not many second or third rebounds. In order to create more offense, we have to generate some more opportunities on second and third chances and get into those hard areas."

At the other end

The Flyers rebounded from that 5-0 walloping on Friday, but still managed to put only one puck past Carey Price on Sunday. Jakub Voracek had the lone marker of the showdown, netting his second of the postseason.

Watch list

Carter Hart: Hart was the driving force behind the Flyers' comeback win in Game 3. After being chased from the game on Friday, he bounced back with his first career playoff shutout with a 23-save performance, on the 33rd birthday of his childhood idol, Carey Price. He now boasts a 1.51 goals-against average and .949 save percentage in the playoffs.
