Here's everything you need to know heading into the game:
1. For two periods, the Canadiens couldn't generate much offensively against the Kings in a 4-2 loss over the weekend. Head coach Martin St-Louis' contingent was down 3-0 in the final stanza when Mike Hoffman and Cole Caufield managed to cut into Los Angeles' lead and make things interesting, but Adrian Kempe eventually sealed the deal with an empty-netter. Goaltender Jake Allen made 31 saves. It was the third defeat in the last four games for Montreal. Defenseman Mike Matheson didn't play because of a lower-body injury. He's day-to-day.

2. Caufield extended his goal-scoring streak to three games with his team-leading 16th tally of the year. He has four goals in his last five games. This particularly impressive stretch actually began on Dec. 1 in Calgary when he scored the game-winner on the power play in a 2-1 victory at the Scotiabank Saddledome.
