Panel - Ryan Poehling

MONTREAL - Youngster Ryan Poehling set social media platforms on fire on Friday night with a goal that you just want to watch again, again and again.

The 19-year-old St. Cloud State University forward broke a 2-2 tie in the third period in a tilt against the University of North Dakota by beating goaltender Cam Johnson with an epic between-the-legs move to give the Huskies the lead.

"[I was thinking about the move] at the blue line… I probably had 15 breakaways this year, and that was the third one I put in the back of the net," the Canadiens' prospect told reporters at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, ND. "I just wanted to try something different. That's the only move I can consistently do, so it was good to finally pull it off. The crowd was pretty silenced. It was good to pull it off."
Poehling's 10th goal of the season ranked third on ESPN SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays of the Night - but he wasn't done just yet.
After North Dakota tied things up late in the final frame, Poehling went on to score the overtime winner, too, to close out a memorable game on road ice.
The Lakeville, MN native now boasts 11 goals and 28 points in 29 games so far this season for the top-ranked team in the country.
