Like the League's other 30 clubs, the Canadiens will be playing a shortened 56-game schedule this season, with games across the NHL kicking off on January 13. Key dates, including the full schedule, will be released in the coming days.
Due to ongoing border restrictions brought on by the pandemic, the Habs will play in an all-Canadian division this year, along with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ottawa Senators, Winnipeg Jets, Calgary Flames, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks.
Prior to the start of the season, most teams will hold training camps starting on January 3 (the seven teams to not participate in the NHL's return to play this summer will be granted a few extra days, with their camps opening on December 31). The NHL will not be holding any preseason games this season, however.
Under the circumstances, practices and games will be closed to the public until further notice, but fans can check the season schedule for game broadcast information.
