Michael McNiven assigned to Laval

MONTREAL -- The Canadiens assigned goaltender Michael McNiven to the AHL's Laval Rocket on Thursday.

McNiven, 24, made his NHL debut on January 24 in Minnesota when he relieved Cayden Primeau after two periods.
The Winnipeg native has also appeared in 10 games with Laval this season, compiling a 4-3-1 record, along with a 3.72 goals-against average and a .876 save percentage.
